Cold, dark weather is creeping in now and you are not the only one finding it difficult to make those gym classes or to even just get out of a warm cosy bed that early in the morning. 

Ever wonder why it is easier during the Summer to keep motivated and workout? Well, this thought came through my mind when i heard the words LOCKDOWN for a second time this year. I thought about how I worked out during the first stages in March. The sun was shining, it wasn't cold and workouts were enjoyable outdoors. 

However, staying motivated during the next few months, means focusing on the benefits. Exercising for as little as 20 to 30 minutes daily helps to increase the "happy hormone" also known as endorphins. Endorphins promote a positive feeling, happiness and even love. 

Now, I bet you are wondering how can I stay motivated? Here are some tips I follow by that I hope will help you too!#

1. Set Goals 

Create a goal for yourself, it could be shedding a few pounds or reducing body fat to fit into your favorite dress or outfit in your wardrobe that you cannot wait to wear. 

2. Get a Trainer

Struggle to know what the correct exercises are or your nutrition is poor? A personal trainer is a paid motivator that helps you push yourself to achieve certain results. 

3. Get Up Early!

It can be hard getting out of bed in the morning when it is dark and cold, but think about how you will feel after working out and the satisfaction you will get finishing a tough days work and not having to go do a workout when your feeling tired, the evening is your own! 

4. Dress Appropriately

5. Be Prepared 

This is a must for me when staying motivated during the Winter months. Have your meals prepped in the refrigerator, ready to grab if you are busy with the week ahead. Lay out your gym gear the night before to just get up and go!

6. Sleep & Recovery  

Lastly, Get your sleep! Sleep is the most important factor to weight loss. Without your sleep, your body cannot recovery 110% to allow you to preform at your best state physically and mentally every day. It is very simple, get your sleep, 7 to 9 hours every night and it helps getting up earlier much easier in Winter.
